Surgical treatment of fractures of the distal epiphysis of the radius has increased in recent years, being the reduction and fixation with palmar osteosynthesis plates the most used treatment option. This type of surgery requires a palmar surgical approach of the fractured wrist. There are many types of palmar approach to the wrist, the "Modificated Henry Approach" is the most widely used by hand surgeons. In the year 2000, the "Radial Extended Approach of the Wrist" was published by Dr. Orbay, which allows a better exposure of the fracture and allows manipulation of the dorsal fragments of the fracture. This paper describes a modification of Dr. Orbay's original technique, by not performing the tenotomy of the brachioradialis tendon, performed on 2 cadaveric pieces in the Anatomy Laboratory of the Universidad Católica del Maule.
