Folha med; 98 (6), 1989
Publication year: 1989

The authors studied 3,783 pregnant women from the prenatal care unit in a period of 50 months. There were 302 (7.98 per cent) high risk pregnancies.

They were classified in four main groups:

clinical, obstetrical, gynecological and difficult past obstetric performance. Each group was specified. The authors emphazise the importance of such identification so that special units and assistance can be planned in order to reduce peri-natal mortality rate.
