A type of traumatic wound to the aortic artery happens during accidents that produce an intense force of decelaration. The characteristic wound in produced in the zone of implantation of the ligamentum arteriosus, distal to the left subclavian artery, by the shearing of the layers of the wall, motivated by the intese deceleration in a transitional zone. A 20 years-old male patient is reported, in which the traumatic modality originates the suspicious of the injury and then confirmed by complementary diagnosti methods.
