Laparoscopic resection of a mesenteric (mesothelial) cyst

Thanks to their loose attachments to the neighboring tissues, there was a sound and straightforward laparoscopic excision of the present mesothelial cyst. This cyst was revealed by an abdominal ultrasound in a non-obese, healthy, 26-year-old female presented with upper abdominal pain. At laparoscopy, a retroperitoneal cyst was found, dissected and removed inside an endobag. The operation lasted 60'. Cytology showed no malignant cells. The postoperative period was unenventfull. The patient was in discharged 24 hours and return to routine activities on post-operative day 5. It is recommended to establish the cyst category by imaging studies, and to choose the laparoscopic approach to enucleate mesothelial cysts
