The author presents 73 consecutive cases of different breast deformities treated at the Ivo Pitanguy Clinic from June 1987 to December 1989, using polyurethane coated silicone gel prostheses. An analysis is made on the use of this type of prosthesis, stressing its advantages and possible complications. The results obtained are discussed comparing them to those reported in the literature
