On the responsibility division between the administrative spheres in the Unique Health System (SUS), is responsibility of the state body the tracking, control and evaluation of hierarchy networks of health. In Rio Grande do Sul State, the health state board have decentralized instance in the areas of Health Regions – Regional Coordination of Health (RCH). These have to track, control and evaluate the public policies in your zones coverage. Regarding the Mental Health Policy, there are barriers that make difficult the tracking, like the lack of indicators and information of health in this area. In this scenario, it was necessary to elaborate a modus operandi technology to the public management that offers inputs to development of the regional Mental Health Policy. This work was produced on the 15º RCH, region formed by small towns, featured by the lack of specializes services, as the Psychosocial Care Center, high coverage of Family health Strategy and hospital care in Mental Health. In this sense, was proposed a research-intervention that came from the development of a survey in the regional Psychosocial Care Network, through the health information and database available and created for this purpose. In this way was traced/outlined the users profile that had access to full hospitalization in mental health, in the term of August 2014 to December 2015. After that, was made the meeting between the Survey and the municipal public servants, in a health conference of permanent education. The hospitalization profile analysis showed the majority of the hospitalization happened by problems due to the use of alcohol (37%) and depressive episodes (19%) and about 21% of the assisted users were re-hospitalized in the analyzed period. The age range that more access hospitalization in mental Health is between 35 and 49 years old and the average hospitalization term is Five weeks.
