Colombia is the worldïs primary cocaine production centre. As the home of the dominant drug syndicates, it currently occupies a central role in the fight against international narcotics trafficking. Colombianïs government efforts to confront this menace achieved Limited Success in the tactical arenas of narcotics interdiction, illicit crop eradication, an essential chemical seizures. Wear Legislation, Corruption and inefficiency hampered efforts to bring mid and high level narcotics traffickers to justice. No drug related assets were forfeited, while already lenient sentences were further reduced pursuant to automatic sentencing reductions.
