Papers impregnated with seventeen extracts and three essential oils derived from nineteen plants species were assayed for insecticidal effect on Lutzomyia longipalpis sandflies. Five extracts singnificantly increased after aplication to hamsters for repellency/antifeedant effects on the flies.
