Batería neuropsicológica exploratoria para niños en español

La Batería Neuropsicológica Exploratoria para Niños en Español fue creada para evaluar a niños monolingües hispanohablantes con estímulos culturales apropiados. Se han correlacionado los resultados de los diversos subtests de la batería con los subtests de la prueba de Inteligencia para Niños de Wechsler-Revisada (WISC-R). La muestra proviene de una escuela pública rural de Trujillo, Perú. El rango de edad se hallaba entre los 6 y los 15 años.

Las siguientes áreas pueden ser evaluadas con la batería neuropsicológica exploratoria:

visomotriz, memoria, aprendizaje, verbal, y ejecutivas. Los análisis estadísticos realizados por la prueba de ANOVA indican que existen diferencias significativas entre las diferentes edades de los niños de la muestra en todos las áreas medidas por la bateria neuropsicológica exploratoria para niños. Se hallaron correlaciones significativas entre el WISC-R y la Batería neuropsicológica exploratoria en las siguientes áreas: Memoria verbal (Historia Narrada), Aprendizaje verbal (Lista de Palabras) y Memoria visual (Copia de Figuras Total). Se precisa obtener una muestra más amplia para poder realizar generalizaciones y recomendaciones aplicables a diferentes grupos escolares, socioeconómicos y étnicos.

The neuropsychological explorary battery for children in Spanish was created to evaluate monolingual spanish speaking children with culturally appropriate items. A correlation among the subtests of this battery and the Wechsler Intelligence Test for Children-R were done. The sample was taken from a rural school in Trujillo, Peru. The age range was between the ages of 6 and 15.

The following areas can be evaluate utilizing this battery:

visualmotor, memory, learning, verbal fluency, and executive functions. The statistical analysis conducted with ANOVA indicated that there are significant differences between the ages of the children tested in all the areas measured by the exploratory neuropsychological battery for children. There were significant correlations among the subtest of the WISC-R and this battery in the followinf areas: Verbal Memory, Verbal Learning, and Visual Memory. It is necessary to obtain a larger sample to be able to generalize this results and recommendations to different socioeconomic and ethnic groups.
