En este trabajo se hace una introducción de la causa principal de visita al odontólogo por problemas no odontológicos, siendo la principal el "dolor", discriminándose la diferencia entre lo que se entiende por dolor agudo y crónico y en base a la exploración clínica poder establecer la diferenciación de la patología neuromuscular, haciendo luego una descripción de los transtornos temporomandibulares para poder identificar dentro de ellos a los que engloban los problemas inflamatorios del ligamento estilo mandibular que como consecuencia produce el síndrome de Ernest describiendo el mismo tanto en su etiología, sintomatología y tratamiento haciendo énfasis en el síndrome de latigazo o Whiplash, ademas se hace una descripción en el mismo contexto del síndrome de Eagle por la similitud de características que presenta con el anterior y su descripción de ubicación anatómica patológica realizando también un análisis de su sintomatología y tratamiento.
In this work an introduction is made of the main cause of visits to the dentist by nodentist problems beging the principle one the "pain", discriminating the difference between which is understood by acute and chronic pain and on the basis of the clinical exploration to be able o establish the difference of the neuromuscular pathology, soon after making a description of the Temporomandibular Disorders to be able to identify within them the inflammatory upheavals of the associated structures that include the inflammatory problems of the estilomandibular ligament that as a consequence produces the Ernest's syndrom or "Whiplash", in the same context of the Eagle's syndrom by the similarity characteristics that presents/ displays with the previous one and its description of anatomical and pathological location also making as analysis of its sintomatology and treatment.
