Se presenta la evolución histórica de cómo las mujeres intervinieron activamente en el cuidado de los enfermos a través del tiempo y de cómo gradualmente se han impuesto a la postergación social y cultural. En el momento actual, las mujeres están conformando una proporción mayoritaria entre los estudiantes de medicina y los médicos que se gradúan.
It is presented the historical evolution of the way in which the women had an actively participation in the patients care through times and how the gradually have overridden to the social and cultural postponement. Currently, the women are becoming a majority proportion among the medical students graduating doctors.
