Para que la sociedad exista como tal, el ser humano debe ser sometido a un proceso de socialización desde que nace a través de las instituciones que la sociedad le presenta, las cuales están representadas en primera instancia por la madre. La constitución de cada sociedad y sus características son muy particulares en cada caso. Aquello que da forma a la sociedad y la diferencia de otras son una serie de elementos, llamados significaciones imaginarias sociales, que escapan a la percepción y están en constante transformación alimentando y siendo a la vez causa de una estrecha relación entre individuo y sociedad, en la cual ambos dependen de las instituciones para estructurarse y perpetuarse.
In order to allow the society exists as such, human being must be brought under a socialization process trough the institutions the society has introduced him since his birth. These institutions are represented primarily by the mother. The constitution of every society and its characteristics are very particular in every case. What shapes a society and makes it different from others is a series of elementals called imaginary social significances which are out of the power of perception, and are constantly transforming, nourishing and being at the same time cause of the tight relations between person and society. In this relationship both of them depend on the institutions for their structuration and perpetuation.
