OBJETIVOS:
El propósito fue determinar el valor diagnóstico de la angiotomografía computada multidetector en el diagnóstico de aneurismas cerebrales comparado con la angiografía por sustracción digital y determinar el índice de complicaciones con ambos métodos diagnósticos. MATERIAL Y METODOS:
Estudio descriptivo retrospectivo de los registros de informes de 84 pacientes (56 mujeres, 28 hombres; rango de edad 24-84 años) con sospecha clínica de aneurisma cerebral a quienes se les realizó angiotomografía computada multidetector y angiografía por sustracción digital en el Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins, entre enero y diciembre de 2011, fueron incluídos en el estudio y los resultados fueron comparados. RESULTADOS:
72 aneurismas fueron detectados con angiografía por sustracción digital en 56 pacientes, en 28 pacientes el resultado fue negativo. PURPOSE:
Our purpose was to determine the accuracy of multidetector CT angiography in detecting cerebral aneurysms compared with digital subtraction angiography and to estimate the complication rate of both assessment methods. MATERIALS AND METHODS:
A descriptive retrospective study from the collected data of 84 consecutive patients (56 women, 28 men; age range 24-84 years) with suspected cerebral aneurysms who had undergone both MDCT angiography and OSA in the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital, between January to December 2011, were included in the study and the results were compared. RE5ULTS:
72 aneurysms were detected at digital subtraction angiography in 56 patients, whereas no aneurysms were detected in 28 patients. Compared with digital subtraction angiography, on a per-pacient basis and for multidetector computed tomography angiography the overall sensitivity was 83.9 per cent, the specificity was 92.8 per cent, the accuracy was 95.9 per cent, the positive predictive value was 95.2 per cent, and the negative predictive value was 74.2 per cent.
