Vivenciando el cáncer: impacto en el paciente y familia Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas-2009

El estudio se desarrolló sobre una realidad muy importante percibida en los pacientes oncológicos y sus respectivas familias que acuden y se atienden en el servicio de Quimioterapia ambulatoria del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN), habiéndose tratado lo referente a las vivencias luego de conocer su diagnóstico de cáncer y el impacto que ésta enfermedad generaron en sus vidas. Se utilizó la metodología que propone la Investigación Cualitativa, el objetivo fue comprender las vivencias del paciente y familia luego de conocer el diagnóstico de cáncer, ésta comprensión podrá constituirse en un medio para sensibilizar a los profesionales de la salud, primordialmente a las enfermeras a fin de crear y hacer operacionales programas de atención holística integral en los que se potencialice la estabilidad emocional y estado anímico de los pacientes, mejorando sus estilos de vida, acudiendo para ello a la educación, información, confianza y comunicación. Para la investigación se llevaron a cabo diez entrevistas a pacientes del servicio de Quimioterapia Ambulatoria del I.N.E.N. (7 mujeres y 3 varones), el rango de edad corresponde entre 20 y 70 años. Son pacientes de distinta situación socioeconómica y familiar. Fue posible develar el fenómeno de estudio a través del análisis de las entrevistas recolectadas, los temas de mayor relevancia en la investigación fueron los siguientes: Notando cambios en el cuerpo. Creyendo que se trataba de otra enfermedad, nunca de cáncer. Recibiendo el diagnóstico. Sintiendo el impacto de la enfermedad. Considerando a la familia como fuerza y razón de seguir viviendo. Aprendiendo a convivir con la enfermedad. Soportando los efectos adversos del tratamiento. Valorando la atención recibida del equipo de salud

Utilized him the methodology that proposes the Investigation Qualitative, the objective was to understand the patient's experiences and family right after knowing the cancer diagnosis, this one understanding will be able to get constituted in a midway to sensitize health to the health's professionals, primarily to the nurses in order to create and to do operational holistic- attention programs integral in them that the emotional stability and the patient's psychic status, improving his Iifestyles be potentiated (subj), resorting to in order to it education, information confidence and communication. Ten interviews took effect to the I.N.E.N's patients of Quimioterapia Ambulatories service in order to the investigation. (7 women and 3 males), elderly range corresponds among 20 and 70 years. They are distinct- socioeconomic- situation patients and relative.
